I used Photoshop CS6 at resolution 450dpi (I always had my stuff at 300) and I guess I’ll go with these two from here on.
I’m not impressed much with the BG but over all, I’m happy about it

If you’ve been in and out in the online store, you’d find that some merchandise are out of stock and I’ve been getting messages lately asking about when they’d be available, so I’m writing this to answer all those questions.
It’s been a dream to have my original merchandise and I just love to be creative and come up with new ideas of our regular daily merchandise and stationary. And I still dream of owning a shop that sells all sorts of merchandise with my original art on it. But for the time being, any item that goes out of stock won’t be reprinted.
I am an artist and a writer first, and everything else second. I always get requests of sketchbooks, artbooks and after my teaching experience in the German Jordanian University, I’ve been asked to make series of teaching books and I’m sure you all know that printing costs for books are high. I also have book 3 to print by the end of the year, not to mention that I’ve sold around 75% of book 1 so that would need a reprint soon.
So all that made me come to the decision of not reprinting any of the out of stock merchandise.
It’s not a permanent decision, that’s for sure.

So, another remarkable broment. the reunion from chapter 1
I have another one to draw later that fits the whole green theme and it’s an easy one so I hope to finish it fast and post it to roll with this one. Guess I’ll just stick with the theme of broments for the year since there are many old art that I’d love to redraw coz it just hurts me to look at them as is sometimes haha.
Nothing much to report on this theme, just that I’m kinda happy with it. Change in look is always refreshing and good~
A week ago, I was stressing, moving here and there, ironing clothes and packing getting ready for my trip to Dubai for Middle East Comicon. Now, I’m in bed, sick. Ahhh life~
So, I won’t be writing much about it but I can say that it was a success. The one thing that made me sad was the inability to sell the books to everyone who wanted to buy them. You see, I had to take a limited number coz I’m travelling so the weight was an issue but other than than, everything was awesome! The people were really nice and supportive, the event was arranged well, the organizers were really sweet andthe only thing that kept it from being the best trip was my health. Guess I need to take care of myself a bit more coz I was half dying the whole trip and went home with the nastiest flu that I just now, was able to get up and move about.
First day was so busy and the books were sold out around noon which was really shocking for me. I couldn’t sit for more than 10 min free on the table, people kept stopping by the table constantly. I am so fired up and encouraged at the moment judt thinking about it.
I was lucky to get art gifts too! One fanart from the sweet Vienix (@instagram) and a Killua fanart from the lovely Mira (of http://hachikurooo.deviantart.com)

I already have so many plans for next year if I was able to attend, God willing.

You all know that a lot of us, webcomicers, are putting everything on the line for this labor of love and that we make money off books (for those who are fortunate enough, thank God), merchandise, commissions and out appearances in conventions.
Thankfully, I don’t have to worry much about living expenses since I’m still living with my family. We don’t have the culture of living on one’s own after a certain age here, but I still live in a 3rd world country where there is a lot of worry about as a freelances and self-published author without even thinking of the day-to-day living. Shipping costs, printing costs, phone bills, online subscriptions for websites and accounts, art supplies, savings, etc. And art tools per se, digital and traditional, are all bought online with a high chance of getting stuck as customs for taxs almost triple the original price with shipping. So I think you got the state of things by now.
I’m writing all this to share and request for those who would like to support my series, an easy quick way with little to no money what so ever!
I am part of two websites, MangaMagazines.net and Tapastic.com as a paid author. These websites are devoted supporters to indie creators. If you meet their guidelines and have an ongoing series you’re committed to, they include you in a monthly pool that pays you according to how much traffic you bring the website.
Payments can reach a grand monthly (or even more) and they’re not even asking for imaginary number of visitors to get paid well like that. I’ve just been recently added to Tapastic’s Premier publishers and it’s still in its promotional period so I’d be happy to have an active large traffic there!

As I did with the first arc, this post will be to share a bit about the second arc and info about the updates.
About the Arc
We’re done with slow-paced up-close views on the two boys and now, after the last chapter of the first arc and the prologue, story wheel is set in motion. Everything is going fast. I have the plan for the whole arc, it will be 15 chapters in two books, vol 3 will have 8 chapters while vol4 will have 7.
New characters will play roles and ones that had minor roles in the first arc will have bigger roles now. The first part of the arc (vol3) will deal with the theme “Change” coz Black was all set to change himself in the previous arc. You can expect anything from here on, regarding story events and genre, even horror (didn’t expect that myself!). Also, there will be a new character introduced in the first chapter that I never revealed anything about before, or… maybe I did somewhere (haha!) You’ll see~
The weather is getting warmer in their time and like we have it here, spring can start so hot. Heck, even now in winter, we have 21ºC days which isn’t that hot but it is warm considering it should raining or something.
You might notice that the pages are getting richer. First volume was all about getting in the rhythm of creating a story, so it was so empty and full of mistakes in my opinion, but it was the method I had in mind to be able to trick my mind into seeing thing manga artists work as easy. When I published the first book, I knew that I’m doing it and that I committed and now it’s my thing to create stories so I started polishing the art and storytelling in a way that an editor would do, so in volume 2 I concentrated on anatomy, camera angles and most importantly, something I neglected in the first book; sound effects. In the 3rd volume, I didn’t have any plan for it more than improving my art, panelling and storytelling more and more, but in last October, I met Reinhard Kleist; a German cartoonist. We had a good talk about lots of things and he checked my books. Kleist complimented the art a lot and he loved the logbook. “I like your sketchy work more” he said. He also asked for tips about drawing every-day poses coz he was impressed about Black’s dancing and eating doodles in the logbook, something that made me all happy yet awkward coz that man is a famous pro cartoonist and he’s there asking tips.
Yet, one thing happened that ticked me off at the time, but motivated me to work more in this volume now. Kleist held my book, the second volume, which supposedly, have better richer panels and he flipped through it like you’d flip any new book you hold, just a mere cover to cover flip and he went “You don’t like to draw backgrounds do you?”….
So, here I am, after the shame I felt (at the time) telling you that the new pages will be richer, which you might have already noticed, coz I’m adding backgrounds even to doodles. It won’t be overly detailed coz there is something intentional in the lack of background in Grey is…, especially in the first arc and I know that. Yet, it made me ashamed and then motivated when Kleist made that remark after a 3 second book scan.
About Updates
First things first; updates will be every Saturday and Wednesday now. With double pages still.
Updates will start again in the first week of February and I’ll announce that when I post the schedule in the about page. Updates will be fastest in MangaMagazine.net and this website, but– there might be a change in that later this year where MangaMagazine will have the fastest updates. I will fill you in more about that in a dA blog soon~
Don’t worry, the story will always be free (unless, Comix Wave decided to translate and publish the thing worldwide, then I’ll have to excuse myself for a year to sweat over it XD), it’s just a matter of where the fastest updates will be. It will all depend on traffic and at the moment, I aim for a high traffic on MangaMagazine.
I just hope I’ll find the same support from you coz I don’t want to lose any reader~ Anyway,

New year, new arc, new website look.
This is exactly the look I was aiming for from the beginning. I wasn’t able to get rid of the sidebar and put the latest pages up under the custom menubar before, but thankfully I was able to this time. I didn’t struggle at all this time with the coding which was really nice! I am getting better with all the CSS stuff but the main helper was the plugin “Firebug” on Firefox which made it easier to test the changes live before I edit the actual css file of the website. It was a lot of work and mind-consuming but it was fun.
I had most trouble with the header! I didn’t have any concept for it and the pic I had in mind, I worked on a lot but never turned out the way I wanted it to be. I like my choice of header in the end, but I didn’t want it to be there alone. I wanted to have 3 headers showing up randomly as you click on a different page, but I didn’t have much time. The idea is to re-draw certain special moments between the boys (which some call broments) in the past two volumes in a promo-like colored illustration. I still have that idea and I want to work on it slowly throughout this month and the one after. There won’t be headers changing every month this year or wallpaper versions of them.
My only concern now is for any newcomer haha! They’re either gonna get the impression it’s a fantasy story or….. what’s worse, kids attempting suicide XD It’s just weird to have that one alone up there as much as I like it.
One more thing, I am happy about the new addition; Cast page. I wanted one for long but I never seemed to make it the way I feel satisfied about. I’m not one to put a profile pic and write info about the character so what I did now is an idea I had for a set of illustrations to draw for each character with a tagline, so I’m happy that it crossed my mind while I was working on the website coz it’s exactly the kind of Cast page I was looking for.
I will be adding pictures of minor roles like Irina and the twins, Waseem’s parents, etc. And other characters will be added as they play bigger parts in the story. You might find some that are main in the story, like Black’s siblings but will be added in the minor roles for now since they only appeared like once or twice in the first arc.
I’ll be writing another blog post soon about the schedule, more comic-strips to be added and maybe, to announce a contest and a giveaway. But let’s leave the details for later.

Yes, this WIP shot means I started lining the first chapter of the 2nd arc which can be taken as a sign that updates will return soon anytime. It all depends on the amount of buffer that would make me feel comfortable to post without pressure. I’m hoping I’ll be fast coz I missed working on new pages. I’ve been storyboarding the past 2 months and I’m done till chapter 20. And I have written a bit in 21′s script. I have a lot on my plate these days but it’s all fun so I’m good.

First things first! I want to thank you all for the endless support, for reading, buying, requesting, sharing, forgiving and giving! I truly am so blessed, encouraged and most of the time shocked I have people reading and love my story! The boys are thankful just as much! See? Black is actually smiling and waving with FIVE fingers! And White, he’s actually blowing a bubble gum. They’re really thankful haha
I wanted to make this pic a pop-up to everyone who lands at the page for 3 days or so as a thank you, but I thought that’d be annoying so I decided to start this post with it coz it’s most important and in hopes ppl will see it when they land on homepage.
anyway~ let’s start the news update…
There I was thinking I’d be able to take a break and chill once I’m done with the last chapter in vol2, but what a big mistake that was. I totally forgot about the stressful job once I’m finished with a volume. All the work I’m doing now is even more stressful than all the work I do over the year on chapters. It’s the work that feels like I’m working in a company or under an editor/manager, because there is a real deadline for all this work. You see, once I have the page count and everything done, I contact the printing house to get a quote, but quotes have a limited time of 14 days, after that I need ot ask for a new quote coz the price might change (you know coz paper price could change from 2 weeks to another :/ )
And this year, it’s not only vol2, I have the monthly calendar and the sketchbook. And the calendar is the highest on my to-do now coz I needed it in the first week of October, coz it’s a calendar, you know for sale and all. I’m two illustrations away from finishing; November and December. Thankfully I finished sketching both so it’s a matter of lining and coloring at this point, which takes off a bit from the stress. So, let’s see… at best, I’ll have the two illustrations done by tomorrow which is doable but I’ll give them two days (one for each) so the calendar will be ready on Sep 18th. I’ll go on Wed (19th) to the printing press (let’s hope Dad is free coz the manager there is scary >>; ) and drop it off, it’ll need 7-10 working days to be ready, so if all goes smoothly as planned, I’ll have it up for sale in the first week of October.

I like the idea of this pic way too much (first seen in some KHR image) and I dunno, some said that I seem to be -secretly- a violent person XD believe me, I’m too lazy to be violent >> it’s just that I love messy looks way too much haha.
Now, about the words; I mixed the languages I know to write some kinda of a tag line of each character from their point of view. Black wrote White’s coz White didn’t want to write. So, English words in Arabic letters and Japanese words in English letters.

White: Kakkoii Mystery (Cool Mystery)
Lana: Lonely Janai (Not lonely)
Ameer: …. Really…? (that one is for me coz he’s angry at me for killing him before the story even started >.>)

To my surprise, I liked coloring this one. And it was an easy fast drawing, thankfully.
I don’t have much to say yet about my plans for September coz there is too much on my mind and been busy for the past two days that I couldn’t sit down and make a schedule. So, till then, have a lovely time <3
I’ve finally finished chapter 14 which concludes volume 02 and the first arc of the story. It took a lot of time to finish this chapter. It’s a long chapter, yea; 44 pages. It has too many detailed BG panels but at the same time, I didn’t put much effort into keeping a schedule to finish it earlier. I’m pissed about it a bit now and I was stressed and hating myself the whole time while working on it, on/off… on/off… on/off
In the end, thank God, I finished it and I have to give myself a bit of slack here, coz the past 2 months were really so stressful and tiring, physical and emotional wise. My family faced too many problems and my brother who got engaged in the beginning of the year ended things with hie fiancé in a not so well way. Also, I got food poison, as some of you know and I was just in a very bad shape, health and body wise, during the month of Ramadan.
This year’s Ramadan was so tiring but I felt so bad when it ended, for some reason.
Away from all the reasons for taking so long in finishing the chapter; I think I gave each page the best I can, time and effort-wise. I had to re-storyboard some of the pages coz they felt weaker than the feeling I’m trying to get across. It is an intense chapter and some facts will be revealed, although I’m worried it’ll only tangle things up even more (hehe)
Overall, I think I spotted some mistakes in writing and storyboarding that I’d like to work on more in the later chapters. I also need, now that I have some break time, to do some more anatomical studies. I feel like my angles and poses are getting rusty and repetitive.
I will write my plans for what’s left from this year and more on “what now?” that the volume is done in the next week or something coz I have a big commission to finish and the September header to work on in what’s left of August.

But after the recent update of Grey is… that shows an intense scene with Black’s abusing days surfing up, I decided to write this down even though I’m stressed about a deadline.

July passed so fast! And as much as I loved the July header and as much as I think it fits the theme perfectly, another month has come and it’s time for a change.
I welcome the month being sick ;_; Food poison and stomach flu so I’ve been in the worst places those past two days. I’m very happy that unlike the past month, I finished the illustration early. Or else, I would’ve forced myself to work on it or ended up stressed about it.
This month is the month of serenity it seems. I wanted to draw Black and White in this dark phase of their lives (Mentioned in chapter 009) or what my friends like to call; Skeleton!Black and Hobo!White.
In the colored illustration, the tiny bits of white and blue at the bottom are shards of paper, not flower petals. Tried to make them look more like paper but ended up like that.
I’ve enjoyed this picture so much and I’ve always been in love with starry skies so it was easy for me to finish. Also, it’s not that detailed and crowded.
Again, like every month, I was faced by the fact that I hate my coloring. I should stop ranting about this and start doing something about it. But let’s wait till I finish the last chapter of volume 2 which I was supposed to be most productive with now, but what can I do when my fav pasta dish; Fetuccini Alfredo made me end up in the ER ;_;
There goes my fav dish. I don’t want to have it again. Not for a very long time at the least.
That is all for now, I want to go lie down, try to regain my strength as fast as I can.

So, if you’re wondering about the lights up above; it’s not a permanent thing (I’m not a festive person, yo!) It’s just some mini decorations for Ramadan, which starts On July 20th. It’s a religious holy month where we fast (to feel with the poor and other things) from dawn till sunset. It’s a time of the year where you can’t but feel closer to family (Whether you’d like that or not XD) because the whole family gather around the table at sunset to eat and it’s just a really spiritual month that I enjoy. I felt like decorating the house and I thought that it’d be nice to decorate the website too. I dunno, I’m just looking forward to this year’s Ramadan way too much!

I dunno how people feel about donation buttons, I just find it really hard to put it there. I am after all doing this for free coz I like it and I never want to ask money in return for it. If someone like to, they can always but the book and I appreciate it. But lately, I’ve been having all those ideas for merchandise and books. I even have Volume 02 print to think about. People always seem to support whatever idea I come up with for merchandise; plushies, buttons, stickers, notepads, etc. or even ideas for books; artbook, sketchbook, guidebook. And it’s kinda hard to keep up with all these things from the money that I get from freelance and commissions, even the sales of the book and existing merchandise.
I know in the end, it’s a donation button, and it might not bring me much. I might change that one to a kickstarter-like thingie in the future. Like, a specific goal to donate for, but for now, I’ll keep it there. You don’t want to miss Black’s troll face or White sitting on Ash like that, now, do you~?

I guess since I’m officially writing and thumbnailing the first one of each, it’s about time I write a bit about this. So, as you already know , there is Grey is… manga and some a couple of special chapters. Both of these set of chapters are from the main storyline and are too focused on Black and White. I have more ideas for special chapters that I’ll work on through the years, next to the main Grey is. They tell stories that complete the whole picture and usually they’re bits and pieces from the two boys’ life.
But as much as I focus and like to focus on the two boys, there are people in their life that shaped and effected their world and they do and say things that when you see from the boys’ eyes, it looks in a way that is completely different from that person’s intention/aim. Also, which is the main reason, I hate to write characters that are one-dimensional so I knew from the start I’ll have to draw back stories of characters at some point. It started with Yaldar who I know for sure I need to write something about him, then I thought of Ameer and how he’s so one dimensional and unknown (of course, he’s dead lol).
So, I decided to call the set of characters’ back stories of Grey is; Shades of Grey. Black does see all people beside himself and White, as grey so I think it’s the best title for those main characters’ chapters.
To go with the storyline, I started with Ameer’s back story. So far, the plan for him to have 3 chapters but will be written as the story goes on and more is revealed so there won’t be any spoilers. The first chapter, I’m writing and storyboarding now and it takes place back when the boys were 15 years old. It’s Black and Ameer’s first meeting and friendship from Ameer’s point of view. I gotta say he’s fun to write that I feel really bad for killing him lol.
I dunno when this will be finished, but I’m working on it these days.
Now besides that; and because I doodle and think way too much (90% about Grey is…), sometimes I get ideas about the characters in different settings and worlds, is what fandoms call; AU (Alternate Universe) and I usually just sketch such ideas, but some are just too detailed and story-like that I decided to make yet another group of chapters under the name “Ungrey” which is pure lame fluffy silly stuff featuring the cast in off-main story events. The personalities are of course that same and all, but ages, relationships, worlds, time differs. I don’t have many ideas about these and I dunno if it’ll ever be a set of chapters but for now, I have one idea that I’m writing and doodling for from time to time.
It’s a story about grown-up Ameer (yeah lots of Ameer. No. I’m not feeling guilty!)with six toddlers that were dropped off all of a sudden at his house by his love interest who has a daycare; Ritta. The six toddlers are; Black, White, Inad, Yaldar, Larissa and Isa. It’s really nothing but silliness all around XD It makes me smile much when I think about or write in it.
So, bottom line; memorize these two titles; Shades of Grey (tells the story of main characters other than Black and White) and Ungrey which is basically AU Grey is…

Yes! I missed a deadline for one LOL
Between feeling opposite extremes, physically and mentally after the trip and what happened the night before the trip (which I don’t think I’ll be able to share) and all the work on the new layout, I ended up missing the deadline for the header/desktop calendar.
I didn’t even have an idea or a sketch for it till last night. At first, I wanted to draw something related to that phase of skeleton Black and hobo White (shown in chapter 009) and the more time passed, the more I felt like I need to draw something quick and simple; like them posing with night sky behind/above them (which I know I’ll draw at some point) and then I remembered an idea I had; Black and White standing behind a glass (facade) with a “+” sign between them and a “=” and “Grey” written on the glass but suddenly, I was back in the right mindset of drawing something beautiful rather than something rushed and I felt that the above idea was kinda dull; them just posing.
So I remembered a pic I once saw of one of my favorite movies; the girl who leapt through time.
As I was working on it, I was so happy with everything, until it was time to color. So I realized that I’m not happy with the way I color at all. I’m fine with the way I line and tone now, I’m even content with the way I sketch.
So my new goal is to fineda style in coloring. One that I like and knowing me, I know it’ll take a lot of time to find it haha.
At last, the finished picture have the boys in the two months that were actually good in their age of 19. At first, after leaving their home city and before Black fell in depression and the shock of taking it all in, he was so excited about the new change, the move, the fashion design award he won, White’s college, Ameer and Lana. It was all good for a couple of months for them and that explains the happy content expressions which I hope are showing in the pic. The glass partition has their names, Ameer’s and Lana’s, Jad; Black’s minnon, a wolf and bunny doodle, a heart, a feather and BESDT BUDS.
Black is writing on the side that’s facing us with a black marker which makes it easier to read, while White is writing on the other side which shows reversed (with a white marker). They played tic tac toe too, and Black as distracted as he can get, was going to put his “x” on the top center but remembered midway White was going to win if he does so he scratched his mark but White was faster and drew his circle. But Black wasn’t effected, he still added an “x” over White’s “0″.
Cheater? Well, not that Black doesn’t cheat (of course XD) but as he says it “it’s not cheating if you saw me doing it!!”
Anyway, I’m going to use the blog here more often, for updates, work schedules, tips and maybe steps of working. I won’t be announcing it just yet, until I’m fully sure I’ll use it.

This chapter is, by far, my favorite one. Of course, the latest work of any artist should be their favorite, but it wasn’t the case for long. I mean I never felt as content with a chapter before this one. I thought of everything gave every part my all.
From dialogue to lining to toning to moods to sound effects, and just everything. I want to work on all of the chapters like this from here on, hopefully. Aside from the art, the chapter as a whole has many parts, feelings, expressions that I personally look for in a manga. It might not be everyone’s fav cup but it feels too close to my liking as a whole.
It can be seen an an intense chapter on one part, but I tried my best to include comic reliefs here and there. All I can say that it’s an emotional one that focuses a lot on Black and White as a pair… haha! Almost wrote “a couple” there XD, But I mean that it focuses on the best and worst in them as two in a relationship (new reader? platonic. think platonic. lol)
I really like people would like this as much as I did (and keep it in mind until after they read ch14 which I ask for forgiveness about, from now XD)
Now from a technical part, I can say that I tried to work more on SFXs and line styles to give the desired effect. I also tried to break away from some of the usual panelling I did since chapter 0 till now. And lining-wise, I’m adding more hatching and went back to my old love for crosshatching and used it on White’s clothing. I also am giving myself freedom while drawing. It might look sketchy to some, but it looks free and dynamic t my eye, and it’s giving me the feeling I want to deliver, and I can only hope that you’ll agree. Now, I can’t wait to start lining chapter 14, the arc finale (LOL this sounds serious.) and the end of volume 01. I’d love to be able to finish the chapter (which is 43 pages) before Jul 20th. I highly doubt it, but at the very least, I’m going to try to finish it before August. That’d be awesome for real!

AHHHHHHHHH Can’t believe I finished this one. Not that it took much time, it’s just that my mind couldn’t like ANY of the 12 sketches I did for June. It’s good on one side because now I have sketches for maybe other months, or an artbook/posters, but MAN I was never moody about a drawing like this one!
So, anyway, Black and White with the kids! Afternoon time, you know all kids take a nap around that time xD but Black and Waseem can’t waste time sleeping when there is a game to play. Everyone liked when White is almost cuddling to Black instead of the usual invasive Black, so I thought I’d draw some more for you.
The bag of chips there is based on a one that we have here and is like the best chips ever, and I’m not a fan of chips, but this one made me love it! So I had to add it here. I hope June will be better than May so that I won’t lost my sanity.

I kinda feel sad when April ends >> (Totally biased haha) but I’m glad April felt too long so I’m content. Also, it’s always good when a month with 31 days starts, more work to finish hopefully.
So, I totally wanted GREEN for June coz i feel like June is green so I started this pic as a sunset pic imagining it to end up orange/yellow which in my head fits May. But before I know it it’s all green and I like it this way.
Now on to the story of this one; Hide and Seek!
The game White RULES in while Black SUCKS badly at it without even knowing it. If Black were to hide, well, let’s be honest here, he wouldn’t be able to sit still anywhere for more than 1 minute and if he were to look for White, he’d…
1. get distracted with billions of things that makes White give up and show himself.
2. get lost and White would end up being the one to find him.
3. look too much like a lost puppy that makes White give up and go “fetch” him
In some rare cases, he’d get distracted with something, say a bug and suddenly carries this bug and runs right towards White is hiding gasping “LOOK HOW FUNNY THIS BUG LOOKS” not even caring that they were playing another game not knowing how he found White.
This “Hide and Seek” isn’t only a trivia. Even as an adult, Black always mentions how good White is at that game and how it’s so hard for him to find him.
“You always run and hide and I’m supposed to be the one to seek the ways to find you. But I always fail”

This took way longer than it shoud’ve taken. But thankfully it’s finished!
This was so much fun to draw. I was smiling the whole time I was working on.
So… April… is my month so I wanted some of my fav things there. Blue Sky.. WIND *A*… kids and adults so I used the concept of Anohana’s Opening.. rooftops and hung laundry… fruit drinks and candy.. watermelons.. LAUGHS.. >> enough?
By the way, the kids are each in his own world lol. White is all about comfort and nice feeling like that. Black is shooting/fighting the sheet, he can personify a still wall, so there is a lot to do with a MOVING sheet in his head XD

I’ve finally finished storyboarding Volume 02. And I must apologize for all the things that re to be revealed at the end of that volume >> Chapter 014 is like chapter 009, kinda deep/heavy with lots of inner thoughts and psychology. It’s 43 pages that makes White’s pages surpass Black’s by a good number of pages but that’s to be expected with all the mazes his mind is e_e
Also, he’s taller so it has to be longer /bad joke
Now that I’ve finished storyboarding the last chapter of volume 02 I’ll concentrate more on finishing the chapters while writing a bit on the side in the next arc coz as man of you know, volume 02 concludes Arc2.
Finished sketching chapter 13 (36 pages) on day late than schedule which isn’t that bad XD
New header, new desktop calendar!
I started thinking of this pic with nothing in mind but “Green” I wanted to draw it all green and fresh. I felt like adding characters too so I picked Ameer. The illustration took me over 12 hours to finished because I drew everything in it with all it’s details. I mean the bikes are all drawn with the details, even the hidden parts.
It was really fun to draw coz I just enjoy details and I really like bikes, they just make everything look better (guys mainly >>).
Black is bluffing and making up stories that Ameer isn’t buying and White is just too amused to hold Black from lying; being the saint he is.
Also, White is checking his notebook to check where they’re heading next or what there is to see in this town, coz I see them going on a tour around the country on bikes which is heavily inspired by “Long Way Round” and “Long Way Down“, the reality adventure show feat. Ewan Mcgregor and Charley Boorman. One of the best shows I’ve ever watched.

Friday, February 24th; Chapter 009 will start. It’s a very important chapter with things to reveal and new issues to tackle.

This chapter took me the longest to finish. White’s head is a black whole.

New video is UP. Each boy is telling what he thinks of the other, when they were kids. White is such an eloquent talker and Black, he gives SUCH insightful facts about people. White.. he sleeps! when he means “sleeps a lot” or “likes to sleep”
Black had a boy-crush on White but seriously now, in his place, who wouldn’t?
I’ve just finished sketching chapter 012, 28 pages. Ahhhh two chapters to go and I’ll be done with sketching volume 02.
So far, it’s 183 pages long. I hope and will try to finish the last two chapters in 62 pages so that the volume would be 245 pages of chapters like the first one. But if it didn’t, I won’t sweat it , White is taller than Black anyway so he needs a longer book XD
I guess that lame joke is my cue.
I have just changed the header and added all resolutions of the full pic for desktop in the Wallpaper section for February.
After some struggling with my sister, whose birthday is this month, she gave me a decent idea for the header. She brushed it off quickly saying that I won’t be able to paint it LOL which I disagreed with greatly of course. The book might not be too visible, but yeah, White is reading out loud, and Black is falling asleep slowly.
So here we are, with kids, snow and casual intimacy for February.

Today I finally worked a bit on the “Comic Strips” section. I added 4 of the oldest ones. I was checking the description provided on dA of each to see if there is any info needed to be added, and I came across a line that was shocking, funny and made me smile. I wrote under one:
“This is the first “Grey is…” Mini-Manga.
This is nothing to commit to, just fluff moments between the two for you to get better, and for me to practice manga inking and toning techniques.”
I always am amused of how lightly I took the whole thing. Maybe it was the key fr me to actually commit to it; not really thinking of it as a big serious commitment.
New Update Schedule is up, easier to memorize and arrange. Pages and Chapters releases are scheduled till June when I will be taking a bit of time off from posting. Will add the rest of the year schedule as I finish the chapters.
I’ve just uploaded emoticons in the Icons page with links to download zips of different resolutions.
Today I’ve finished the storyboards for chapter 011. 32 pages. Will start sketching the pages today.
Still torn between digital or traditional sketching, I’ll give digital sketching a chance again~
Yesterday I’ve finished lining and toning chapter 010, it took me longer to finish than I’d already planned but then again I was working on the store and the website, and CSS’ing needs a lot of time to finish ^^; The chapter is lighthearted compared to the previous one and I used a lot of tricks and new ideas for panelling but I feel like I’m not impressed with my toning anymore and I want to take it to a new level so I decided to read some manga before lining and toning chapter 011 which I’m currently storyboarding, just to refresh and shape up my art.
I’ve played around with the store look this past week, and I’ve added some products but I haven’t announced it because I’m going to add a few products in the next couple of days and I want to make one big announcement. Last note, I’ll be spending this week to finish storyboarding chapter 011 and finish the emoticons to post on the website. I’ll be adding some stuff here and there on the website to get red of those “Under Construction” pages.
Added Black and White’s section in Cast
I won’t be adding detailed descriptions on characters, just a few words and what relations they have with other characters.
I’ve just added a polls section at the sidebar to get feedback on issues I’d love to hear your opinions on.
Finally, Grey is… Official website is up. A place that has everything, in one place.
A few pages are still unfinished but I’m working on it daily until it’s fully stuffed with info and drawings :D
I’d appreciate any word spreading about it.
